KMUD - Redwood Community Radio - On the ground in the Emerald Triangle
At Marijuana Stocks, we've become big fans of Redwood Community Radio (KMUD). KMUD operates in The Emerald Triangle area of Humboldt, Mendocino and Trinity counties in Northern California. KMUD offers listeners a unique opportunity to hear select community meetings, interviews and locally produced (homegrown?) content relating to the cannabis industry (among great music and other programming). It's our opinion that nearly anyone interested in what's going on "on the ground" in the cannabis industry will both enjoy and benefit from listening to discussions from this geographic area so rich in knowledge, history, reputation and lifestyle.
We've linked players to select programs below for your convenience but encourage you to visit the KMUD website for much more from this excellent resource. Thank you, KMUD. Keep up the great work.

June 17, 2010 -- (Archived) Thursday Afternoon Public Affairs: The Cannabis Chronicles
The second installment of the Cannabis Chronicles looks at the medical cannabis industry. Attorney General guidelines and the Health and Safety code name the collective or cooperative as the basis of cannabis cultivation or distribution, but laws are poorly defined and even more poorly understood. Host Liz Davidson talks to cannabis law attorney James Silva about agricultural cooperatives and dispensaries, reports on safe legal avenues of distribution, and names some misunderstandings that might cause patients or caregivers to unknowingly commit a felony. Liz also talks to a dispensary owner Mariellen Jurkowitz about her major concerns, USDA/Clean Green inspector Chris van Hook about organic cannabis, and looks at the future of regulation of this growing industry.

June 10, 2010 -- (Archived) Thursday Afternoon Public Affairs: The Cannabis Chronicles
The Cannabis Chronicles explores the rapidly changing state of marijuana from black market to industry in California. This first installment looks at the Tax And Regulate Cannabis initiative, with views on it from CaNORML director Dale Gieringer and medical activist Dr. Frank Lucido. It also looks at the legal medical industry, tax money, the industry in Oakland, the impact on the black market, and what these things might mean to Humboldt's largest industry.
