Billed as "the first cross-country protest march for Marijuana Rights", as of 4/20, Dan Gervais' War on Lies Walk is officially under-way.
Mr. Gervais departed Boston on April 20, 2010 and began walking to Los Angeles, CA, using hemp products for food, clothing and supplies. Yes, that's Boston to LA -- walking. His trek will take him through Massachusetts (4/20), Rhode Island (5/1), Connecticut (5/3), New York (5/12), New Jersey (5/16), Pennsylvania (5/20), Ohio (6/8), Indiana (6/23), Illinois (7/3), Iowa (7/13), Nebraska (8/2), Colorado (8/24), Utah (9/23), Nevada (10/13) and California (10/24), finishing in Los Angeles on 11/4.
The Mission? -- "Raising awareness of the diverse uses of hemp, and about the 80 years of lies, propaganda and coerced medical testimony used to outlaw our planets most valuable, renewable natural resource."
A comprehensive schedule of dates and locations is available on his website ( waronlies.net ). You'll also find an open invitation to see or walk with him: "I invite everyone to come out and join me, whether it be for 1 mile or 100. You have the opportunity to take part in this historic event, and show that we won't stay quiet. We will stand up for ourselves, and have our voices heard."
Do your part by stopping out to cheer Dan on, thank him, or join him for a few miles. And give your local media a heads up about his efforts. They may want to put their walking shoes on and do an interview.
